Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. I am a licensed Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health Care. I recently merged my practice with Compass Colorado Health Care Systems and have relocated to a larger more full service office in the Highlands Ranch Community. In addition to our child psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, we have several child and adolescent experienced therapists in our office and we work together to give your child a full compliment of care. All of our clinicians accept insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare.
A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who has completed advanced education (my degree is a master's degree in psychiatric mental health nursing) and training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions, including chronic illnesses.
My specialty is in Psychiatric Mental Health Care. I am experienced in the care of children and adolescents who suffer from emotional and behavioral disorders. Children and teens present a unique challenge when they experience mental health problems. It is often difficult to ascertain whether the problem is simply a part of the developmental challenge of the age and stage the child is at, or a problem signifying the need for further evaluation and treatment. It can be frightening for parents to try to figure this out on their own. If you feel there may be a problem with your child, you are probably right, and should call a professional for help.
I prescribe medications, conduct brief psychotherapy, provide patient education and collaborate with the child’s school counselors and teachers and members of the child’s family to diagnose and treat emotional and behavioral problems. I would be happy to talk with you about your child if you have a concern or would like to set up an appointment. I can be reached at 303-683-5620. If you reach my voice mail, please leave a message with your name and the best time to reach you and your call will be returned within 24 hours.
There are many methods for treating emotional and behavioral disturbance in children. Sometimes medication is necessary, but not always. Therapy, on the other hand, is essential. I conduct brief psychotherapy with my patients. I often refer children who need a higher level of care and will be happy to provide parents with a list of reputable therapists who specialize in this area.
Thank you again for your visiting my web site.
